Jim Klauba

Jim Klauba is a veteran Law Enforcement Officer with over 24 yrs of experience. He is currently assigned to the Chicago Police Department’s Physical Skills Unit of the Training Academy, as a Control Tactics Instructor. Jim began teaching Control Tactics classes in 1996 while working as a Deputy for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department. Certified by the State of Illinois Law Enforcement Standards and Training Board as a Control Tactics Instructor, Jim has developed numerous curriculum for the Chicago Police Department. Most notably, he developed the Ground Fighting for Weapon Protection course that is now part of the Recruit and In Service training program. He is also a member and 2010 ,2014 , 2016,2017 and 2018 Course Presenter for the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA).

In addition to having numerous Law Enforcement certifications, Jim has also been training martial arts for approximately 38 years with 16 of those years spent doing Krav Maga. Specializing in boxing and kickboxing competition, he is still an active fight trainer in Chicago. Jim has won world amateur kickboxing titles and one SuperCop Boxing title. Jim brings the experience of teaching for 2 major Law Enforcement academies, on a full time basis, which span the many facets of Law Enforcement work: Courts, Corrections, Police and Private Security. He is also the Director of the Blueline Division for Alpha Krav Maga International.

Jim is also an Instructor Trainer for Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP) and teaches the impact weapon and hancuffing course nationwide.
